Gents Omega wrist watch, Royal Navy, 1947.

The watch has a 17-jewel calibre 283 hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and it has the serial number 11,815,321 which dates it back to 1947.

The watch measures 35mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is stainless steel. There is light surface marking, and some scratching on the back where the case back has been removed in the past.

The case back is signed inside with the Omega logo, and the case reference 2537-4, which is correct for the calibre 283 movement. The 2537 is quite a rare model, and very handsome with the stepped sides which run along each side of the watch.

The back of the watch is signed with name and service number of an Able Seaman, a rank of sailor in the Royal Navy.

The lens is in lovely condition.

The dial is in its original rarer black finish with original dauphine hands, and centre seconds hand with a little marking. There is some even age related marking but the dial looks good to the naked eye.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
