Antique Silver Zenith Pocket Watch

Antique silver Zenith pocket watch.

The watch has a 15-jewel stem-winding movement, signed Zenith, which is working nicely. The movement is protected by and inner hinged cover which is signed with the Zenith name, and it has details of the movement and also of medals won in Paris and Geneva. There are some scratches where this inner cover has been opened in the past.

The watch measures 49mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are swan hallmarks inside both of the case backs. The Swan mark was introduced in June 1864, it was used on silver articles imported into France from countries without Customs Conventions. The front of the case is in good condition. The side and back has some gentle unevenness. The back of the watch is engraved, and there is a vacant cartouche, but the detail is quite rubbed with age.

The acrylic lens is in good condition (some reflection showing in the photos).

The signed dial has its original beautifully ornate hands. There is an old repair at number 5.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
