Anthemion Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
The drawer handles are original to the period, there a good dovetail to the drawers as can be seen in photos and the drawers themselves are oak lined. The chest on chest is of good proportions (please see measurements). It stands well on substantial bracket feet and is a very smart countryhouse piece of useful antique furniture.
