Gents 1960s Certina Bristol 235 wrist watch.

The watch has a good quality 27-jewel automatic movement which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed.

The watch measures 34mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The main body of the case is gold plated while the screw-on case back is stainless steel. There is general light surface scratching to the case back but the gold plating is in good condition. The plain winding crown is a later replacement.

The lens has minor marking but is very acceptable (there is some white reflection showing in the photos).

The signed dial is in its original finish. It is signed Certina Bristol 235. Certina released various Bristol models, thought to be an attempt to break into the British market. The 235 possibly relates to the case reference 230-5.

The watch has an early form of quickset where the hands are repeatedly moved backwards and forwards between 12 midnight and 10.45pm until the desired date is reached.

A later leather strap has been fitted.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
