Here is very charming design for a fan by the Danish Illustrator FN Bursill.

Signed and dated 1904, this pretty Ink and watercolour painting is executed by his very competent hand, the design first drawn in inks, and then painted in watercolours.

Depicting a bucolic scene of a fine lady and gentleman with four young girls, sat amongst lambs and Iris in what appears to be a very Italianate setting with cypress trees and rolling Tuscan hills.

FN Bursill was a Danish Illustrator active in the late 19th and early 20th Century.

The painting is in good condition and comes in a gilt frame, under a blue mount. The colours are as bright and clear as the day they were painted.
