William and Mary Chest of Drawers C.1690

Description

A remarkable geometric front, 17th Century William and Mary chest of drawers. It’s been sympathetically cleaned and waxed bringing out lovely dark rich tones to the oak. It’s in a natural state showing its age gracefully with aged marks in areas adding to its character. The overall condition is good with the original brass pear drop handles and brass escutcheon overlays to the middle. Fascinating geometric panelling to the larger drawers typical of the c.1690 period. The top consists of two separate panels situated together. A real relict of times gone by and a great opportunity to own a part of history over 330 years old!
