The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1960s.
The watch has a Swiss 21-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely. There are a couple of empty screw holes at the edge of the movement, these are for retaining screws but the screws are not required in this particular case because the fitted case back retains the movement.
The movement is signed with the name Griffon.
Burford & Co of Brighouse, UK, who would have been either an importer of watches or of movements to be cased in the UK, in readiness for wholesale.

The watch measures 32mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The main body of the case is gold plated and it is in very nice condition. The winding crown is signed R so probably a replacement.

The lens is in lovely condition.
The signed is in its original finish with original hands, subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
