Antique Swiss silver pocket watch, 1917.

The watch has a good quality 17 jewel Swiss stem-winding movement which is working well. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has some light surface scratching where it has been opened over time.

The watch measures 48.5mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the two case backs for Glasgow(import mark), 1917  with an importer's mark for James Weir. James Weir acted as an assay agent for foreign manufacturers who did not have a British address from which to submit items to the assay office. Weir's company received packages of watch cases, stamped them with the registered sponsor's mark, sent them into the Glasgow Assay Office for assay and hallmarking and then returned them abroad.

The case has light surface marking and a hint of unevenness to the back but otherwise it is in nice condition for a 1917 piece

The glass lens is in nice condition.

The white enamel dial is in nice condition .

The watch has blued steel Breguet style hands.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
