A fox and a rabbit by a rabbit hole in woodland undergrowth, Circle of George William Horlor (1849-1895)

Oil on canvas in a giltwood frame.

Canvas size: 46 x 71cm

In frame: 59x 83cm

George William Horlor (1849-1895), an animal and sporting painter, worked in Cheltenham, Brentford and Birmingham, from where he may have originated. He first exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1854, showing a picture of a shepherd and another of a dog and a rabbit and exhibited there regularly until 1890.
