The Georgian oak chest on chest boasts classic Georgian detailing width its finely shaped dentil moulded cornice. The George III oak tallboy comprises a two-over-three graduated drawer confirmation to the top section, with three graduated drawers to the lower section. The Georgian oak chest on chest consists of two halves, separated by a moulding at the midpoint. There is a simple moulded apron to the underside terminating on its original bracket feet. This period George II oak chest on chest also retains its original backboards. The drawer fronts are finished with cock-beading, which exhibits a touch of sophistication to this piece. The oak lined drawers are constructed with the original hand-dovetail joints, and retain the original working steel lever locks (with a working key) and the original brass swan neck handles and backplates.

This is a fine quality antique English Georgian oak chest on chest, constructed of solid oak, with original locks & working key, boasting a stunning colour, circa 1780, in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges, frame, sides and drawer bottoms, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The drawers are constructed with the original hand-dovetail joints and are lined in oak. The drawers also boast the original brass swan neck handles and backplates; the original steel lever locks and a working key. The drawers close flush to the frame. The chest also stands on its original bracket feet and incorporates its original backboards. This Georgian oak chest on chest boasts its original polish, which ensures a fantastic rich oxblood colour and patination to the oak. This George III oak chest on chest is well constructed, solid in joint, does not wobble and is ready to be used.
