Antique Silver Buren Half Hunter Pocket Watch

Antique silver Buren half hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a Swiss stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement was made by Buren and it is all protected by an inner hinged cover which has an inscription, ‘Jack, from his pals, November 1935’.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the three covers for Birmingham 1930 with a case maker’s mark for Aaron Dennison. Dennisons was a prolific manufacturer of cases, and supplier to various watch makers. The case is in good condition, just a few minor marks, nothing serious at all. The back of the watch has Jack’s initials, JS.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover.

The glass lens is in lovely condition.

The dial has blued steel hands, including the special half hour hunter hand so that the time can be read when the front cover is closed. The dial looks good to the naked eye, there are two very faint hairlines if viewed through a jeweller’s loupe.

The watch comes in a vintage presentation box.
