18th Century Walnut Chest on Chest

18th century
Description

Outstanding quality walnut chest on chest in excellent condition from the Queen Ann period. This chest separates into 2 sections which allows for easy transportation in and around your home. The top section consists of 3 small drawers above 3 graduating drawers with reeded canted corners Its base also has 3 graduating drawers with the addition of a pull-out brush slide. The bottom drawer has an unusual concave detail to the faux central drawer. All oak lined drawers boasts desirable cross banded walnut veneers with cockbeaded edges and constructed with dovetail joints. The brass handles and escutcheons are probably a historical replacement however they are very attractive. There is a key however this only locks the top three drawers and the top drawer in the base. Like all antique furniture there are some imperfections but these only add to the charm and character of this solid chest of drawers. With its incredible colouring and amazing graining this is a striking example of period furniture offering a lot of storage space and history to any home.

Archival Detail
Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
