An Unusual Scottish Regency Mahogany Side Cabinet, Edinburgh C.1800

19th century
Description

Possibly a special commission for a New Town property, and if so William Trotter has to be in the mix as a possible maker.

Lovely colour and timber, useful size too.

Carcass is pine, doors enclose two fixed shelves, with reeded brass mounts.

Condition: Typical superficial wear, there is a twist to the right-hand door so it's not flush at the top (see image). This would be greatly improved if a key was sourced and the door locked when closed.
