Gents 9ct gold Pulman wrist watch, 1936.

The watch has a Swiss 15-jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the name Pulman, a brand name registered by Les Fils de Benjamin Schlesinger of La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland in 1927. The movement is protected by an inner fitted cover.

The watch measures 29mm wide excluding the winding crown and 29mm high excluding the lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the case back for London 1936. The maker’s mark of LA could be for the London based Swiss watch importer Leon Allamand. The case has the odd minor mark, and a small patch of unevenness to the back but overall is very acceptable for such an early piece.

The lens is in good condition.

The dial has a few hairline cracks although not overly visible to the naked eye. The hands and numbers would originally have had painted detail but this has been removed over the years.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
