Victorian Watercolour and Pencil Painting - Still Life of Flowers

19th century
Description

Here is an extremely elegant Victorian oval watercolour painting of flowers, presented mounted in a period frame.

The painting is done by an accomplished hand, and depicts a posy of English cottage garden favourites - Anemones tangle with Honeysuckle and Peonies, whilst Blue Rock Bindweed curls together with Speedwell and Carnations. Overall, it is a very blue palette and goes beautifully with the dark ivory mount and caramel coloured frame.

The picture is in good condition with the colours as bright and vibrant as the day they were painted - there is the usual age related wear that is to be expected of a picture of this age - some very slight ageing of the paper, but as the photographs show, this is barely noticeable and the painting displays beautifully.

Please note that there are no creases in the actual painting or the mount- the glass has some reflection in the photographs!

The framed picture is 64cm tall, and 51cm across.

Please don't hesitate to let me know if I can provide any further photographs, or if you would like any further information.

I offer free delivery throughout the UK, and am very happy to help with quotes for shipping abroad.
