How do I care for a metal bound chest?

Maintain the wood and leather surfaces by applying appropriate natural waxes or conditioning balms to prevent the material from drying out. Keep the metal components clean using a dry or lightly oiled cloth to preserve the existing patina without stripping historic finishes. Position the chest away from direct heat sources and excessive moisture to protect the structural integrity of both the timber and the iron or brass hardware.

Are these trunks suitable for daily use?

These chests offer durable storage solutions that function well as coffee tables, end tables, or blanket boxes in contemporary living spaces. Their internal compartments and sturdy lids make them practical for stowing away household items while adding historical character to a room. Care should be taken with delicate historic interiors or fragile painted finishes when using them for heavy daily access.
