Where should I place an ornate pedestal side table?

These tables suit narrow spaces, corners or beside armchairs where a full-sized table would prove too bulky. Their decorative pedestals ensure they look attractive from multiple angles in a room. Heavier marble-topped versions suit hallways as plant stands or lamp tables, while lighter wooden or painted examples work well in sitting rooms.

How do I care for marble and onyx tops?

Stone surfaces require gentle cleaning with a damp cloth and mild soap to avoid dulling the polish. Acidic liquids can etch marble, so coasters help preserve the finish. Polished stone needs no harsh chemical treatments or abrasive scouring pads to maintain its natural lustre over time.

Are these tables sturdy enough for daily use?

Pedestal tables rely on a central weight distribution, making them ideal for holding lamps, small plants or books. Heavier stone-topped variants offer stability through their own mass. Placing them away from heavy traffic prevents accidental knocks against the central pillar or tripod base.
