How should I hang a watercolour?

Keep watercolours away from direct sunlight to prevent the pigments from fading over time. Direct UV rays damage paper and wash out delicate water-based colours permanently. Choose an interior wall with stable humidity and temperature conditions. Kitchens and damp spaces risk encouraging mould growth beneath the glass.

Are these watercolours original works?

The selection includes both unique hand-painted watercolours and period prints on paper. Individual listings specify whether an item is an original brush painting or an early edition print. Signatures, dates, and handling marks help distinguish direct artist watercolours from mass-produced illustration prints.

What periods do these pieces span?

The available artworks range from nineteenth-century Victorian studies to mid-twentieth-century British paintings. Edwardian and 1940s examples also appear across the selection. Each period brings distinct subject matter, from Grand Tour landmarks to early twentieth-century fairy tale illustrations.

How do I care for framed paper art?

Dust the wooden frame gently with a dry, soft cloth without applying pressure to the glass. Avoid using liquid cleaners that might seep behind the rebate and stain the mount. Ensure the hanging wire and wall fixings remain secure to prevent accidental falls. Professional framing checks can replace ageing backing boards when needed.
