How do two piece cupboards separate?

The upper section simply lifts off the lower base chest at a horizontal dividing line around the waist. This modular design makes moving large furniture through tight doorways straightforward. Pegs or locating blocks often secure the two halves together once positioned in the room, preventing the top section from shifting.

Where should I place a corner cabinet?

Standing corner cabinets utilise empty angles in dining rooms, hallways, or living spaces where flat furniture obstructs pathways. Two-part versions allow you to carry the heavy upper and lower sections into position separately. Ensure your chosen corner provides enough wall width to accommodate the specific depth and arc of the cornice.

Are painted cupboards original?

Many pine cupboards received coats of paint during the nineteenth century or later to suit domestic interiors. Original paint finishes show authentic craquelure, wear patterns, and layered colour applications. Some buyers prefer stripped pine surfaces, while others seek out pieces retaining their early cream, teal, or scraped painted patination.
