Were office chairs adjustable in the nineteenth century?

Iron screws and wooden threads beneath the seat enabled the user to raise or lower the chair. Swivel mechanisms paired with castors provided mobility for clerks and professionals working at large partners desks. These early iron and brass fittings remain key indicators of office functionality.

How do I care for wooden office furniture?

Maintain wooden office chairs by applying natural beeswax periodically to nourish the timber and preserve its finish. Avoid placing antique seating near direct heat sources or in strong sunlight, which can dry out the wood and leather.
