Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

A Georgian plate rack is a wall-mounted wooden shelving unit historically used in 18th-century kitchens and dining rooms to store and display ceramic plates vertically or horizontally after washing.

These pieces are typically constructed from native English timber such as oak, featuring pegged mortise and tenon joints, shaped friezes, and slender wooden spindles designed to keep plates secure.

Authentic pieces exhibit period-appropriate tool marks, hand-cut joinery, oxidised timber patination, and wear patterns consistent with centuries of domestic use.

It can be mounted on a kitchen or dining room wall to display earthenware, copper cookware, or collected ceramics, adding texture and historical contrast to contemporary spaces.

Maintain stable indoor humidity levels away from direct heat sources, avoid harsh chemical cleaners, and periodically nourish the timber with traditional beeswax to preserve the finish.
