The style and design of this piece transcends from the William IV to the early Victorian period. Decorated with melon carved finials above the top shelf, the display sand is supported by finely shaped fluted columns, with a second shelf below and a drawer. The working drawer is decorated with a moulded front and retains its original matching melon carved knobs. The drawer is mahogany lined and finely constructed with hand-dovetail joints. Condition Report:

This a fine quality antique English transitional William IV / early Victorian mahogany whatnot, comprising three tiers with a drawer, circa 1830 – 1840, in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the top shelf and leading edges but nothing significant considering its age. The mahogany display stand has been wax-polished to a professional standard; therefore, it boasts a stunning colour, whilst retaining its original patination. The drawer is in good working condition and retains its original drawer knobs. Likewise, the feet are original and in good condition. This mahogany whatnot is solid in joint and ready to use.
