large and impressive carved oak hall stand.

the top with carved pediment ( removeable ) and flared cornice with bevel edged mirror and shelf below, 8 turned hat / coat pegs and all over profuse carvings including female busts, lions masks, green man masks etc, the base with drawer and ornately carved cupboard doors opening to shelved interior, flanked at either side by umbrella / stick stands with drip trays, raised on plinth base.

with some marks / scuffs commensurate with age and minor marks to the mirror but this wonderfully ornate hall stand is in overall good clean condition and really is an extremely handsome and eye catching piece.

This large and impressive Victorian Gothic hall stand dates from 1880. Made from dark brown oak with glass and brass, the piece has a rectangular bevel-edged mirror, a removable carved pediment, and a flared cornice. Eight turned hat and coat pegs surround the upper section, complemented by extensive carvings including female busts, lion masks, and Green Man mask motifs. The base includes a drawer and ornately carved cupboard doors opening to a shelved interior, flanked by umbrella and stick stands with drip trays and turned supports. The woodwork exhibits some marks and scuffs commensurate with its age, alongside minor marks to the mirror. Measuring 242 cm high, 152 cm wide, and 54 cm deep, the unit stands on a plinth base.
