Born in Newcastle and later studied South Kensington School of Art.Regular exhibitor with Bewick Club,Newcastle.In 1900 he sent one work to the Royal Academy.By 1903 he had started to exhibit at the Staithes Art Club.He lived and painted on the North Yorkshire coast until 1930. ‘ Whitby Harbour,North Yorkshire’ signed oil on board,image size 42x55cms: framed size 64x78cms.Housed in a high quality Watts style frame.
