An atmospheric painting by Hubert Coop 1872-1953.Exhibited works at the Royal Academy from 1897 to 1918. Also exhibited at the Walker Gallery and The Royal Society of British Artists. Noted for images of the sea and shorelines. This painting of a castle, probably in Wales where Coop spent time. The manganese palette chosen to depict fading light over the castle. Housed in a fine quality frame with water gilt slip. Super condition with unfaded colours. Early 20th century signed lower left. Dimensions including frame 54 x 70 x 6
