An iconic Art Deco bronze figure by Pierre le Faguays - Dancer with Thrysus. Cold Painted, patinated and gilded, this stunning figure shows a standing semi naked female standing on one foot in an elegant pose which is full of movement, style and vitality. She holds a Thrysus up in her arms - a staff covered, or tipped in ornamentation carried by Bacchus and his followers. The figure stands on a stepped, portoro marble base which is signed le Faguays and marked for Etling Paris – the foundry mark. The figure is finely cast and with excellent hand finished detail. In excellent original condition. A similar figure is shown page 154 Albert Shayo’s book Statuettes of the Art Deco period.
