Victorian Drawing Of A Marble Bust

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Prometheus Antiques

A fine and decorative Victorian drawing of a marble bust. The work is of wonderful detail and incredible technical ability and was an examination piece for the South Kensington School which later became the Royal College of Art. The paper is embossed with the ESK mark which stands for Examined South Kensington. The drawing is in good condition with some slight areas of discolouration to the paper. The ebonised frame is the original and in good condition with some minor touching in. the work is not signed which was not usual for examination pieces. The whole is a large and impressive work with a great decorative appeal and it is completely untouched condition, never having been out of the frame. C.1890.
