Circular Still Life Oil Painting of Roses

A fine and decorative oil on canvas laid to board still life depicting roses. The bright and colourful work shows pink and yellow roses cascading out of a blue gilt vase on a stone shelf. The painting is of circular or tondo shape and was probably part of a large decorative room scheme and later saved and framed. The work is technically very good with great observation of the flowers in different positions and angles, it is however unsigned. It has been professionally cleaned and minor touching in. The painting dates to the late nineteenth or early twentieth century and would have been framed in the current frame in the 1930’s. The frame has a textured gilt finish and is in good untouched condition. The whole has a great decorative look and is ready to hang. C.1900.
