‘A Valley, South Wales’ Landscape Oil Painting

A charming oil on canvas landscape scene depicting a valley in South Wales. The landscape is beautifully represented with mountains in the distance and a small hamlet to the fore with a shepherd driving a few sheep. The work is technically very good with great detail, composition and use of colour however, it appears to be unsigned. The piece is titled on the reverse of the stretcher in pencil. The painting is in excellent condition and has been professionally cleaned. The work retains the original fine quality gilt frame which is in very good condition with only some minor restoration. The whole has a great period look and is ready to hang. C.1880.
