A very fine watercolour of a country house room illustrating an ‘interior design’ likely for a very wealthy and important client, signed and dated by the artist, H Mossop, 1924 for prestigious London Antique Dealers and Decorators, Gill & Reigate. A superb watercolour in its own right, this painting draws you into the room, appreciating every detail.

The firm of Gill & Reigate was founded in 1898 and, by 1901, were trading at 85 Oxford Street, London, as ‘Dealers in Antique & Modern Furniture, Artistic Decorators and Upholsterers‘. They were decorators to King George V and also restored and furnished Sulgrave Manor (The family home of President George Washington ) under the direction of the architect Sir Reginald Blomfield.

All beautifully conserved, reframed and ready to be displayed.
