Clearly, Albert loved the sea, and here is a very personal testimony of it. A small oil on panel dating from circa 1880-90, our painting was clearly sketched en plein air, purely for his own enjoyment, and because he loved what he saw. It is a truly impressionist work, touchingly personal and free, with luminous colours.
Measuring 10 x 20 cm and signed at the lower right, the overall framed size of the picture in a more recent 19th Century style frame is 21 x 31 cm.
