Let's start the year with some colour! While a vase with flowers can be detected in this vibrant painting, I believe the artist's principal objective was to create a joyful, fiery explosion of colour. The painting, dating from the 1960s, is very much of its time, yet timelessly modern and dynamic. It is unsigned, but presented in a stunning - and signed - frame by Paris master framers Goude, who were active on the Ile Saint Louis.

An oil on paper mounted on to board, the artwork measures 65 x 50 cm. The overall framed size is 84 x 68 cm. (Frame with some wear and repair to liner and bottom edge. Old woodworm treated and no longer active).
