Alec Fraser-Brunner was a ichthyologist, author and artist. He designed Singapore's national symbol, the Merlion in 1964, which appeared on the country's postage and was sculpted by Lim Nang Seng in the early 1970s and stands in Merlion Park, Marina Bay, Singapore.
Fraser-Brunner curated the Van Kleef Aquarium in Singapore and the aquarium at Edinburgh Zoo.
