This early 20th-century nocturne captures a coastal view under a dense overcast sky. A wisp of light illuminates a resting sea while fisherfolk drag in nets and return home.

It’s an interesting piece with a near-monochromic palette. Clearly the work of an accomplished hand.

Held in a gilt frame and glazed.

Medium: Pastel on paper

Overall size: 14½” x11 ½” / 39cm x 29cm

Year of creation: c. 1930

Condition: Artwork presents well. Frame with some light wear.
