Still Life Oil Painting by H.e.f. Vivian

A very decorative oil on board still life by Harold Ernest Farquhar Vivian who exhibited between 1909-1933. The still life shows an orange and an apple with two ceramic pieces. The whole is an exercise in the depiction of colour and is highly decorative. The work has been professionally cleaned and is good condition with some light craquelure in places. The painting retains the original frame which is in great untouched condition and has the original artist’s exhibition label on the reverse. The piece is very much in the manner of the Arts and Crafts movement. Harold E.F.Vivian was a little-known London based artist who did exhibited several times at the London Salon and at the Royal Institute of Oil Painters. The whole has a great decorative look and is ready to hang. C.1910.
