This mid-20th-century oil on canvas by Swedish artist Allan Erwo (1921-2007) depicts three figures walking towards the end of a passageway. It’s suggestive of a coastal area with bright rays of sun clambering over the horizon. Erwo’s approach is often somewhere between abstract and figurative - it often raises more questions than it answers. His style is muted, aloof, and modernist.
