A fine nineteenth century oil on artist board of the infant Saint John with the lamb of Christ after Murillo. The painting is beautifully observed and competently worked, but like most commercial copies is not signed. The original painting entered the national collection in 1840 and it is likely this piece was commissioned shortly after. The work is in excellent untouched condition and retains the original fine quality gilt frame. The piece is ready to hang and has a great country house decorative appeal.
