A wonderful oil on canvas depicting a prize sheep. The painting shows in landscape setting a typically enormous sheep. The painting is in overall good condition with some old repairs and a craquelure to the paint. The canvas is mounted in a period gilt frame that works very well with the subject. The frame is in good condition with some repairs. The piece is not signed though this is not unusual for these primitive works which were produced by itinerant artists.
