Antique English Victorian Oil Painting of a Coastal Seascape Fishing Boat Scene Believed to by Tuck (Circa 1850)

19th century
Description

This is a fine quality antique English Victorian coastal oil painting, of a shore inlet scene depicting fishermen, landscape and background mountains, believed to be by “Tuck”, circa 1850, in a top-quality original gold leaf frame, in excellent original condition. The oil on canvas detailed painting depicts fishermen with a boat in a coastal inlet, with a coastal path leading up to a cottage. Featuring a lovely landscape backdrop with distant mountains, with birds in background. A well-balanced picture with plenty of detail. The painting is signed in the lower left-hand corner, we believe it to be “Tuck”, however, the first initial is unclear. Lovely pastel colours in the background. The painting accurately reproduces the natural colours of the subject, with an attractive range of greens, browns and blue, with subtle terracotta detailing on the house roof. The item also boasts wonderful texturing, evident in the leaves on the trees and the vegetation on the ground. The painting is set into its original fine quality ornate gilt frame, decorated with gold leaf.

This Victorian coastal oil painting would look superb in a variety of rooms, including the hallway, living room or bedroom. This item would certainly grace any home and is a great investment as it is an attractive and colourful piece. So don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of art.
