A fine and decorative pair of French Empire period watercolour portraits of a lady and gentlemen. The portraits are beautifully observed with great detail. The pair are in excellent condition with the colours bright and fresh. The pair are framed in a wonderful pair of red painted and gilded Empire style frames though from the late nineteenth century. I would think the paintings have been in these frames for a very long time. The pair have a great decorative look and are ready to hang.
