Pierre Mitiffiot DE BÉLAIR (1892-1956)

A French Post Impressionist reclining nude sensitively painted and dating to the Art Deco period.

Pierre Mitiffiot de Belair was born in Lyon, France in 1892. He was the son of Fernand, a portrait painter. He studied at the Lyonnaise des Beaux-Arts, exhibiting extensively in Lyon, Tunis, Paris, London, New York and Germany. In 1929 the Salon of French Artists were particularly impressed with his exhibits.

Condition

Very slight craquelure in places otherwise in excellent original condition.
