Nineteenth Century Marine Oil Painting

A fine quality Victorian oil on canvas marine painting. The scene shows in very capable detail a large ship at safe harbour with various boats working around it. The technique is of a high level and the detail beautifully observed; however, the work does not appear to be signed sadly. The piece has been professionally cleaned and lined at some point probably in the last twenty or thirty years. The painting is framed in a Victorian period rosewood frame which works very well but is unlikely to be the original, it is in excellent condition. The whole has a great period look and decorative impact, it is also ready to hang. C.1860.
