A fine and decorative pair of oil on canvas paintings depicting sheep and cattle in a landscape setting. The works are both very competently done and painted with great detail and ability. The pair are each signed W.H.Lewis and titled thus on the frames. William Henry Lewis 1817-1879 is a recorded artist but there is little information available on him other than he appears to have been Welsh. The paintings are in excellent untouched condition and are in the original frames. The frames are fine quality with original worn gilding and only some slight repair in places.
