A beautifully executed watercolour depicting the windmill at Cley-nect-the-Sea in North Norfolk. It is a work by Arthur E Davies RBA, RCA (1893 - 1988), an artist originally from rural Wales, who first came to East Anglia in 1918 and, having fallen in love with the local countryside, moved to Norwich in 1923. He exhibited annually at The Royal Academy, and was elected both an RBA by The Royal Society of British Artists in 1939 and an RCA by the Royal Cambrian Society in 1942. A special exhibition of Davies' work was held in the Castle Museum, Norwich in 1988

Our watercolour on wood rich paper dates from the late 1940s or 1950s and is signed at the lower right. Measuring 28 x 38.5 cm , the artwork is presented unframed, but with a mount. The overall mounted size is 44 x 56 cm
