Pair of Large Gilt Framed Coastal Watercolour Paintings, After Clarkson Stanfield Ra (1793-1867)

Description

A good PAIR of large gilt framed coastal watercolour paintings, after the famous artist Clarkson Stanfield RA (1793-1867). One is of Dover Castle and the other possibly of the Dover docks area.

Both are signed ‘C Stanfield’ but are believed to have been painted by Mrs Guy Campbell (see label verso). Well painted and in excellent condition, protected behind glass. Good studies of the clothing fashions of the time. Frames in good condition.

Frame dimensions (both) : H: 31.75 inches (81cm) x W: 20 inches (51cm)

Dated: c.1840-50
