Societa Artistica Firenze
To present a careful selection of some of the best Italian and foreign contemporary artists, we have chosen a historic place, unique in terms of charm, history, suggestion: the headquarters of the Society for the Promotion of Fine Arts Circolo degli Artisti Casa di Dante in Florence. Its foundation dates back to 1843, when a group of Florentine notables founded "The Promoting Society of Fine Arts" with the aim of promoting and propagating the arts of drawing in its various manifestations with dignity of worship. It was the first promoting company established in the Italian territory before the Constitution of the Kingdom of Italy and under its auspices important exhibitions were held. Among the registered members who actively participated in the life of the association are painters such as De Tivoli, Cabianca, Borrani, Signorini, Fattori to reach Ardengo Soffici, Pietro Annigoni and Primo Conti. Cultural personalities such as Aleardo Aleardi, Giosuè Carducci, Sem Benelli and others also took part in it. With the constitution of the Kingdom of Italy, the sovereigns of the House of Savoy are also registered. In 1922 the Society of Fine Arts exercised its full noble function with the construction of the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in the "pratello di San Gallo" Parterre, designed by the architect Fantappiè. Known events led to the demolition of that Palazzo delle Esposizioni which was used as an exhibition of craftsmanship. In 1947 the Municipality of Florence assigned some rooms of the Dante's House to a group of artists who re-proposed the "Circle of artists", also it has a certain history and prestige and in 1957 the Society of Fine Arts merged with this circle, increasing its vitality with a true Florentine spirit. The Society of Fine Arts still maintains the values ??of Art intact today with an intense cultural and exhibition activity at local and international level and which is reflected in its prestigious archive with documented memory. The monthly Italia Arte and its journalistic-organizational and curatorial structure, the MIIT International Museum of Italy Art and the Folco Gallery continue their path of promotion and development dedicated to the most talented Italian and foreign contemporary artists by proposing an event that is unique in terms of charm and history. . In particular, the MIIT, created to carry out artistic-cultural exchanges at the highest national and international levels.
