Antique James 11 17th Century Figural Carved Joined Oak Sideboard Dresser Court Cupboard C1680 Wdb5010/7.9

Description

Lovely antique 17th century carved oak sideboard and dating from around the time of james 11 restoration period c1680. It is most profusely carved with naive figures and strapwork which we believe to be original to the dresser. It has a carved frieze top set above four figural carved panels and supported on carved turned columns. It has a plank top to the base with deeply carved frieze above three naive figurative panels each separated by carytatids and with carved frieze to the base.the two end panels being cupboard doors and the interior stretching the full length of the base with shelf.it stands on incised carved block feet and is in one piece.

In very good condition with a lovely deep colour and patination to the oak oozing the charm and character of the restoration period.

Measures: 64" high X height to base 34" X 18" deep X 58" wide
