Description

Here we have a very characterful pair of Japanese woodblock prints signed with four character mark and red seal stamp. The cockerel by Nakagawa Shurei is a charming and rare example and is identical to one held in the collection of the Boston Museum of Fine Art. The pair date from around 1914 and are in their original frames and are both in good original order. Taisho period woodblock print, ink and colour on paper circa 1914.
