A fine oil on canvas portrait of a horse. The horse is shown head and neck with bridle. The work is signed and dated to the lower right F. S. Fox 1886. The artist appears to have been from Nottingham but little else is known about him. The painting has been professionally cleaned and restoration made to a hole around the ears. The work is in the original gilt frame which is both wonderful quality and in great original condition with the original gilding.
