A charming early Victorian English school portrait of a lady wearing a blue dress with gigot sleeves and a large bonnet decorated with flowers.

The portrait dates to around 1830 when puffed sleeves were particularly fashionable.

The portrait is housed within a simple gilt frame.

Medium: Oil on canvas

Overall size: 13½” x 15½” / 34cm x 39cm

Year of creation: c. 1830

Provenance: England

Condition: Fine craquelure. A few small marks here and there. Canvas relined. Frame with some age-related wear.
